Framing Lumber

BuilderUp offers untreated framing lumber that meets grading standards for strength and appearance. Our grade #2 lumber is ideal for a wide range of applications including framing houses, building furniture, constructing commercial buildings and hobbies! Lumber from BuilderUp can be primed and painted or stained and sealed.

Our framing lumber comes in a variety of sizes and materials. However, if we don’t stock exactly what you’re looking for, we have relationships with lumber mills and can help get you the building supplies you need.

Treated Lumber

When a piece of lumber is hidden in your walls, looks don’t matter, but when your lumber is on display in your deck, or another outside venue, visual quality matters. Unlike many of our competitors, we only carry #1 treated lumber because we know that a little extra upfront cost will save years of deck remorse.

All of our treated lumber is southern yellow pine with micronized copper azole (MCA) treatment. MCA treated lumber is a clean, odorless, non-staining and non-irritating material. It is safe for humans, animals and the environment. Southern yellow pine is a dense, straight-grained, and easy to work with material, making it the perfect fit your home project.

BuilderUp’s treated lumber is ground contact rated, ensuring the wood doesn’t rot over time. Southern yellow pine with a ground contact designation is intended to protect your lumber from rotting when there is direct contact with soil and excess moisture. It’s used in cases where frequent wetting or immersion in fresh water doesn’t allow the lumber to dry, or when the building component is critical to the safety of the structure.

With sizes ranging from six-foot 1”X6” treated pine to twenty-foot 2”X12” treated pine, we have the perfect treated lumber package for your outdoor wood project. To place your order, give us a call at 410-618-3100.

OSB, Plywood, and Sheathing

Oriented strand board (OSB) is a type of engineered wood similar to particle board, formed by adding adhesives and then compressing layers of wood strands in specific orientations. It’s commonly used as sheathing in walls, flooring, and roof decking.

If you are looking for a simple solution you may want to consider standard plywood. Plywood is an extremely versatile product used for a wide range of structural, interior and exterior applications from formwork to internal paneling.

For a more premium product, BuilderUp offers ZIP System R-sheathing, which is a simple all-in-one structural panel with builtin exterior insulation. Featuring integrated moisture, air and thermal protection, ZIP System R-sheathing completely reimagines traditional wall assemblies by streamlining exterior water, air and thermal management. We also carry all the accessories needed for all the best manufacturer installation practices.

The front fights air and moisture. The back fights heat and cold. Together, they knock out the elements.

1 Built-In Exterior Insulation

Polyisocyanurate rigid exterior insulation on the back of the structural panel reduces heat transfer to help keep homes consistently comfortable year-round.

2 Integrated Water-Resistive Barrier

A resin-impregnated, water resistive barrier manufactured onto the structural panel eliminates the need for housewrap, sheds water to the exterior and is backed by a 180-day Exposure Guarantee.

3 Continuous Air Barrier

Sealed seams with advanced acrylic ZIP System tape and ZIP System liquid flash form a continuous air and water barrier that manages water and reduces air leaks for an energy-efficient exterior.

4 Structural Durability

The integrated structural sheathing system meets wall bracing requirements and contributes to shear wall assemblies. Plus, the engineered wood panel provides a nailable, easy-to-flash base.
